  • The arrow icon used for the K Block direction feature is changed from ↔ to ↑↓ to make it easier for users to recognize.

  • Auto Mute Alert Level is modified as below.  The existing Auto Mute On/Off is deleted from the menu and Auto Mute is integrated into Auto Mute Alert Level.
    • Delete the existing Auto Mute On/Off from the menu.
    • Add Off to the Auto Mute Level (Auto Mute Level : 1~8, Off)
    • Off is the same as the behavior of the existing Auto Mute Off, and the Auto mute function does not work when setting it to off.   When setting it to Off, the Auto Mute Level function is not turned off, but the Auto Mute function is turned off.
    • If setting it to 1~7 level, the alert is auto muted only when the alert level is below the set Auto Mute level, and if an alert level exceeds the set Auto Mute level, it will not be auto muted.
    • If setting it to 8 level, Auto mute is applied to all levels, so it works the same as the existing Auto Mute On. (Auto Mute Level : 8 = Auto Mute On)
  • GPS Error1 is fixed.

  • Alert Temporary Volume
    • During an alert, works separately and temporarily from main volume
      • You can select ON/OFF in the menu to enable the function
      • During LASER/RADAR alert, VOL-/+ keys can be pressed to adjust volume temporarily.
        • This volume adjustment is applied only during the current alert, after alerting ended next new alert will start with main volume and not the temporary volume.
  • Auto Mute Alert Level
    • Auto Mute function is performed when the level of the incoming signal is below the 'Auto Mute Level' value set by the menu, default = 8 (All levels of signal). During an alert is auto muted, if the alert becomes stronger than 'Auto Mute Level', auto mute function is cancelled and alert sound will become stronger to it's corresponding alert level.
      • You can set level 1 ~ 8 (alert level) in the menu
        • Examples:
          • Auto mute level : 1 -> only level 1 of signal will be auto muted, level 2 ~ 8 are not affected.
          • Auto mute level : 6 -> level 1 ~ 6 of signal will be auto muted, level 7, 8 are not affected.
          • Auto mute level : 8 -> all of the alert level (1 ~ 8) will be auto muted.
  • Selective Mute Memory Frequency
    • When registering the signal as mute memory, not only the main signal but also the candidate signal is shown as a list, so that you can select and register.
  •  Add K Block 3 Filter (24.121 ~ 24.124 GHz)
    • Default = Weak/Side
      • K Block 1 Filter : 24.194 ~ 24.204 GHz
      • K Block 2 Filter : 24.166 ~ 24.170 GHz
      • K Block 3 Filter : 24.121 ~ 24.124 GHz
  • User K Block Filter
    • Press [MARK] key for more than 1.5 seconds during K band alert, the frequency is registered as a K block filter.
      • The registered filter can be checked/modified within the menu.
    • There are five user K block filters.
      • Block Filters can be adjusted specifically in the menu (level - weak, mute, off, level 0.5 ~ 8.0 (0.5 unit) / direction-front, rear, side / frequency).
    • K block filters can also be adjusted specifically (K block filter 1, 2, 3 all default = weak), user block filters are not affected by factory reset, but K block filters are to be set to their default values after a factory reset.
  • Rear Balance for Each Band
    • Rear balance can be adjusted for each band (X, K, Ka band) separately, adjustable to 100 ~ 30%
  • GATSO (RT3/RT4) Support
    • GATSO ON/OFF added into menu
  • Misc Changes
    • Volume setting in menu
      • Main volume can be set by pressing VOL-/+ key out of menu, also can adjust it in the menu.
    • The color of scan icon (heart beating icon) is matched to the color of the background
    • The parameter related to MRCD filtering changed like the R8, more detectable but could possibly introduce more false alerts.

  • Laser detection is Improved.
  • Laser Gun ID On/Off feature ( Default : OFF) is added to the Menu
  • K Bogey Level (1-8 level / Default : 4) is added to the Menu.    
    • This feature is to prevent too frequent K band bogey beeps and the level means signal strength (8 is the strongest level).  
    • For instance, when the K Bogey Level is set to 4 and a new K band signal with below 4 level (1,2,3) is detected, there will be no K band bogey beeps.
  • Minimized the delay in alert sound and display when multiple alerts are detected.
  • The Menu editing feature by the FW Update tool

• Ensure your R7 is powered off using the power button
• Connect the R7 to a PC with USB cable
  
  • PC may automatically download USB drivers if needed.
    If message says that the device is not recognized, you can manually install the USB driver here: [ZIP]
     (Install drivers and then reconnect radar detector to PC)
• Download and extract R7_v137.144.116_db210406.zip.
• Run "Uniden R Series SW Download Tool" from previous updates. Your version of firmware will appear on the application.
• Select the OPEN button and browse to the "R7_137.144.116_db210406.bin" file from the previously extracted file,
  then select RECOVERY MODE then select START DOWNLOAD.
• After update is complete, close the program.
• Firmware/Database/Voice is all updated with a single program.
• Reset the device to the factory default settings by using the menu after new firmware has been installed.
